“From one genocide to another” (D’un génocide à l’autre) 74′ (with Anne Agranat)
Exterminations is a documentary, which refers to two genocides, the genocide against Tutsi in Rwanda in 1994, and the destruction of European Jews. In the world of global disasters, the film shows the necessity of transmission of memory. Aleksander Edelman, one of the film directors, belongs to a 2nd generation of survivors of Jewish Warsaw ghetto uprising in 1943. He meets Dariusz Stępinski, a defrocked priest, witness of genocide in Rwanda. Their encounter unmasks through testimonies of Tutsi and Jewish survivors the good and evil of human beings and points to the difficulties of prevention of new genocide.
